Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Analysis: Assist in monitoring security systems and networks for potential threats and anomalies. Analyze security incidents and escalate as necessary.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Participate in vulnerability assessment activities to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications. Help in prioritizing and remediation efforts.
- Security Tools Management: Learn to operate and manage security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), antivirus software, and others.
- Incident Response: Support the incident response team in investigating security breaches, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Security Awareness Training: Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees to enhance their understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Assist in maintaining documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans. Generate regular reports on security metrics and trends.
- Research and Development: Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Participate in research projects to explore innovative approaches to enhance security posture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (candidates in the final year of their degree program may also be considered).
- Strong passion for cybersecurity and eagerness to learn.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus but not required.
